Piezoceramics

Piezoelectric Ceramics Bulk PZT-based materials were fabricatedby disintegrate injection moulding followed bysintering at temperatures between 1000oC and 1300oC.The piezoelectric ceramics fabricated by conventional pulverize metallurgy method were too prep ard for thepurpose of comparison. The sintered ceramics werecharacterised by microstructure, density, dielectricand piezoelectric properties measurements. It wasfound that dense ceramics with arranged microstructurewere achieved at the sintering temperature of1200oC. Further increase in sintering temperaturedecreased the density and properties. The propertiesobtained in this project are similar to those in theliterature. This shows the success in establishing theprocess for the production of piezoelectric ceramicsby powder injection moulding and powder metallurgyroutes. Functional materials have physical and chemicalproperties which are either immutable or sensitive tochanges in the environment in a planned and contro lledway. Such changes include changes in temperature, pressure, electrical and magnetic fields, wavelengths of visible light, absorbed gas moleculesor acidity. Functional materials system is a futuredirection of the multidisciplinary research involvingphysics, chemistry, materials science, electrical engineeringand biological science. Piezoelectric ceramicsis one of the useful materials which haveunique electrical properties with broadening range ofapplications and markets. Barium titanate, leadtitanate and lead zirconate are a few examples ofceramic materials that demonstrate piezoelectricity. Among them, lead zirconate titanate (PZT) isone of the lead-based materials which have beenstudied extensively due to its excellent dielectric andpiezoelectric properties. PZT is widely used inmany industrial applications such as multilayer capacitors,micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS),transducers, infrared sensors and micro actuators. well-mannered powder metallurgy method is acomm only used method to...If you want to eject! a full essay, order it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
